Class Description:
Make this simple zipped and fully lined pouch that is perfect for storing all sorts of exciting things. We will show you how to cut out your pattern, sew the bag and insert the zip. You can choose to quilt your pouch with decorative stitches or just keep it plain and simple. This super useful zipped pouch will become a fun favourite for you to make over and over again. Perfect for festive gifts too!
 
What you will need:
A basic knowledge of sewing and experience using a sewing machine

OPTION A:
- 1 Fat quarter for bag outer and lining
- 1 Contrasting fabric for accent band (20" long by 4" wide)
- 1 Nylon zip 20cm (8") to match or contrast with your fabrics
- Thread to blend with the fabrics you have chosen
- 1 Fat quarter of medium weight iron-on interfacing e.g. Vlieseline H630 or Batting
- Basic sewing kit of pins, fabric scissors, needles, thimble if you wear one and your glasses if you need them

OPTION B:
- 1 Fat quarter for bag outer
- 1 Fat quarter for bag lining and accent band
- 1 Nylon zip 20cm (8") to match or contrast with your fabrics
- 1 Fat quarter of medium weight iron-on interfacing e.g. Vlieseline H630 or Batting
- Basic sewing kit of pins, fabric scissors, needles, thimble if you wear one and your glasses if you need them

About your Tutor:
Suzanne Fisher has been teaching patchwork and quilting for more than five years. She has been using fabric, needles and thread to create things since childhood. She made her first quilt from a kit bought at the Ardingly Quilt show in the early 1990s and has not looked back since. She studied and achieved City and Guild courses in both Embroidery and Patchwork and Quilting. She has made quilts from patterns, ideas gained from different cultures, the World around her and from random ideas scribbled down in a notebook. She uses dyes and printing to make her own fabrics or uses commercially made fabric.
Suzanne is a regular contributor to the UK magazine Popular Patchwork both writing articles about making bindings for quilts and designing and making quilt projects. Suzanne is a member of the Quilters’ Guild and several small embroidery and patchwork groups in Sussex.
